Location
This photo was taken at a small pond not far from where I live. Beautiful area to get some great images of wildlife and have taken several other images of that area.Time
This was taken around 7:30 on a cool October morning about five days before Halloween last year. It kind of gives that Halloween feel to it with the colors but also calmness to me.Lighting
The morning light is what really got me on this image. It has a bit of orange gradient to it in the sky plus the added darkness of the lone tree and trees in the background. And the mist coming off the lake just adds to it.Equipment
I used a Canon 60D with a 24-105mm lens. Hand held and no flash.Inspiration
I had woke up early that morning I recall and decided to take a drive to see what I could get for a sunrise shot. I had already been to one other lake that I frequent to shoot but wasn`t much there and so went to this lake and as I was driving to it the reflection of the tree in the somewhat calm water plus the sunrise colors just made me stop and jump out to get a shot as well as the mist coming off the lake.Editing
Besides just some saturation to bring out the sky a little more and some clarity is all. Other than that I didnt do much at all to it.In my camera bag
Normally I have my camera plus a light meter, 24-105 lens, 100-400 lens, 10-18 lens, and a 50mm lens. Plus my tripod and a speedlight as well.Feedback
Only advice I can give is keep yourself motivated. I like foggy mornings so I`ll check the weather for the coming days and see if there will be any foggy mornings then I`ll get up earlier than usual and just head out to some of my favorite locations to see what I can get. If there is no fog then I always keep looking because there is most often always something that will catch my eye.
