This is a closeup of a rock sample I found when rock hounding this past summer. There is a combination of Green Apatite, Agate, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz, Calcite, Pyrite and a few other minerals that have yet to be named.
Rock hounding is my second favorite hobby. Second only to my jewelry making. This piece will be cut down, cleaned, tumbled and turned into a cabachon or pendant. Once I get it to the pendant size, I will design something special specifically for this piece and create a one of a kind piece of jewelry.
Being able to find my very own rocks, crystals and minerals is such a satisfying and exciting past time that I enjoy with my son. e spend many hours every day searching for different areas where we can find those special pieces that can be turned into something special.
