Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken during a wedding photo session at Piedra Blanca beach near Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México.Time
This image was , in certain way, easy to take, like the pelican waiting for me, it didn't move like waiting till I got my camera ready. It was 10:50 a.m. the time that I took this image.Lighting
The idea of the pelican looking right at me was the most appealing thing that make took the picture, the day was clear, right after a storm the hit our shores one night before this. Therefore the colors were bright, the textures were clear, and the "model" was posing in a simple natural way.Equipment
It was shot with a Panasonic Lumix GF2 Camera, with a 42 mm lens (84mm 35 mm equivalent) , an f stop of 9 at a shutter speed of 1/320 no tripod required nor flash.Inspiration
Other than inspiration was the place, at the right time, at the right moment. Nature is unpredictable so taking a picture of an animal too close can be diffcult to capture.Editing
Nature can give so many beautiful colors and general elements that sometimes editing or post-processing are not required, this was one of those occassions. In my camera bag
I consider myself a "practical photographer that's because I like to carry small equipment with me, but powerful at the same time, I love Lumix cameras. therefore I always carry a couple of GF series cameras, an 14-42 mm lens, an old analog vivitar external flash, a mini tripod that sometimes I use as a manual stabilizer, and my personal favorite a Lumix Lx7 advanced compact camera.Feedback
Taking pictures of natural life depends in many ways of the moment of capture, but at the same time observe your surroundings, and always keep your camera on hand, expect the unexpected and keep shooting!
