I love raindrops on natural objects. And I really live in the best place for a person who loves this, as we get a lot of rain in Tacoma, WA. I was walking down the sidewalk one autumn day near this huge magnolia tree, and the sun was out...and everything was sparkling after a little rain! Luckily I had a little camera with me (not my Nikon, but it did the trick). I set it on "macro" and had a blast with shots.Time
I would say it was probably around noon-ish...or maybe a bit later...around 2 p.m. - the sun was still high in the sky, though.Lighting
Setting the wb and exposure are very important, but timing is everything. Keep your camera with you at all times!!Equipment
Honestly, I'm pretty simplistic, I rely on the light that nature gives me and rarely change the lens.Inspiration
Beauty! And seeing lots of sparkles! :)Editing
I do almost all my photography work on GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) ...and this was no exception. Right before making this, I had recently learned how to make patterns, which involved creating a small square of fabric-imagery and then raising the pixel image to 3x (or more) it's normal amount. I decided that why not do the same with a square from a leaf photo? Lol, I wish I could say it was more complex than that, but it's just a matter of having the right amount of imagination. In my camera bag
I always make sure that there is extra lens cleaning equipment for emergencies, but before I go out to take pics I really clean my lens thoroughly, and I adjust the camera so that I can see my knee (or something relatively close-up) perfectly. That way I can take it out of the bag and without much work, get a nice pic. I do also carry a macro lens and a wide-angle lens, which I do occasionally use.Feedback
Beauty is really everywhere, it's just a matter of opening your mind to realize that it's there. Try to look with new eyes at familiar objects...something may surprise you. Also, always keep your camera with you...you don't want to miss a shot.
