Your camera pick up the wood grain perfectly. The rust adds an extra element to the photo. Great job!

I saw the eye right away....and it does kind of look like an Elephant's eye and trunk. I can see the 3D of the depths of the wood. Well don't!

Location
This was on a walk into the wilds of Scotland from Golspie in Sutherland, where I noticed this discarded plank of wood from a farm.Time
This was about lunch time.Lighting
At around 12.30, the sun was quite high, but there was cloud in the skies, sufficient to partially diffuse the light.Equipment
Taken with my old GX10 and sigma 70mm macro lens, handheld.Inspiration
I focussed in on the rusty bolt and felt there was a face looking back at me and it reminded me of a biblical saying, that he can be found watching over us everywhere.Editing
Increased the contrast, saturation and warmth a little, followed by some dodging and burning before adding a subtle vignette to bring out the appearance/feeling of something/some one looking back at you.In my camera bag
Now I have K3 and K3 II plus 16-50, 12-24, 50-150, 60-250, a Pentax 100mm and 35mm macro lens. Plus Gitzo monopod.Feedback
Just keep your eyes out for interesting moments, the longer you keep looking the more you will see and learn to recognise great opportunities.
