Behind The Lens

Location

This Image was taken from the 50th floor rooftop of Kharbash tower in Dubai

Time

It was taken at Sunset at 6.30 pm. I got and official access to this tower for the First time. I arrived at the location an hour early and reached the roof of the tower n the View was mesmerizing.

Lighting

This location one of best location for sunset. As the sunset on the Right of the Frame. It gives good glow and shine to the towers and after the sunset. The warm orange light along with clear Blue sky with artificial lights(road, towers) makes the scene very magical and dramatical.

Equipment

I have used Canon 5d mark iii with canon 17-40 f/4 Lens. Manfrotto 055cxprob tripod with Qitzo 1780qr ball head.

Inspiration

The Modern architectural development in Dubai and amazing road structures inspired me to take this shoot. I scouted many vantage points but this location is simply Amazing. The street, the skyscrapers all come together perfectly.

Editing

Its a two pano image with 5 brackets each. I blended the 5 bracketed images in photoshop and then stitched to create this pano image. gave bit contrast and dodge and burn to get the desired Effect. Finalized it with adding bit of sharpening and reducing bit of noise.

In my camera bag

Normally I Pack my Canon5d mark iii , Canon 50mm F1.4 lens, Canon 17-40 F/4l, Canon 24-105 F/4l,canon 70-200 f/4, yongnuo speedlite and Finally My GoPro.

Feedback

Shooting at Rooftop is not Easy. One mistake the Consequence will be Big Such as tripping over the Roof. dslr falling over the tower, damaging the A/c plants on The roof. So i Suggest to be extra cautious when visiting Rooftop. The most important thing Get official access to shoot on rooftop otherwise can get in to big trouble.
