TO me, this photo shows that timing in life is of essence. the song lyric comes to my mind "spread your wings and fly" as I gaze. I did not see until the second look the small piece in its mouth and I'll guess it to be something to build its nest, maybe a soft piece to add a bit of comfort from the hard sticks in love of family. It is flying away from the light to progress to the future and leave the past (reflections) behind. Though darkness in the reflections of life's past, light appears ahead so he knows he is in the right direction with a new life of family ahead. He is using all it has to determined and joyously spread its wings to fly to the newness life will provide. (God takes care of the sparrow.. are you not more important than they? Do not worry.. paraphrased) not sure but I think this might be a mockingbird Michael and if so, they can be fascinating to watch!

Yes, it is a mockingbird and they are interesting. I grew up in South Florida where they can be seen regularly beating up cats and dogs (and people) with dive bombing runs. Very protective parents, but it's fun to watch them build. The male will gather stuff for the nest and the female chooses what gets used and throw the rest away.

I have a few mockingbirds on my site along with their baby that I helped get back into the nest from fallen. I've never seen them beat up dogs and cats here and I live in Florida. I videoed one on youtube when I didn't know what it was. For days it came back to the same light pole on my property and it just jumped and fluttered away to return to the same spot on the pole. while sing. lol btw.. in the upper right corner when someone writes you, there is a small anecdotal like a speaking box. If you click on it, it returns the message to the person you are writing. Otherwise noone gets your response.
