Colors were brought out very well. At first glance, of course this bird's name was Patrick. Swayze that was. lol however, when you look closely at this shot, it speaks of being very cautious and to avoid temptation. How do I get that, right? lol The tri-color heron in the area I live, they are normally in the middle of the pond very carefully and quietly studying for their dinner. Because he is crossing over the pond on the stick, that to me I see being cautious in all. I love the positioning of the feet. The balancing to stay in position along with the great eye capture yet he appears to ignore and stay focused. he will reach his destination! Possibly walking over a sea of forgiveness as he goes?

What I've noticed about this particular bird is tolerance. When I first started seeing it I would have been lucky to get a shot of it's tail feathers flying away as I approached. Over time it seems that a realization has been reached that I'm not there to harm, and yet, as you say there is caution. He stays in the area, but walks away and keeps an eye on me while doing so. I get the feeling he says "Welcome to the lake, don't bother me."
