This photo was taken in my back garden. There are so many little critters if you just spend the time to just stop and look.Time
This was taken late in the afternoon. The light was right, the wind had changed direction and the Blue Banded Bee was having its last fill before dark.Lighting
The lighting was perfect. The afternoon is a great time for light. The sun was low but enough light around to light the image.Equipment
I used Nikon D7000 with a 60 mm lens hand held.Inspiration
The opportunity arose as I was bringing the washing in. I saw the bee and dropped the washing. As these little chaps are shy it's a good idea to catch it when you can.Editing
I try not to do post processing, if I do its usually to only crop and a bit of lighting. In my camera bag
Nikon D 7000 camera with a 60 mm macro lens and a 200 mm macro. Nikon D 810 camera with a Tamron 150-600 lens and a Nikon 24-70 lens.Feedback
Non cloudy days seem to be the best for insects I have found. I plant many cottage plants in the garden for attracting insects. Early mornings and afternoons are my favourite time as the sun isn't harsh. Walk around your garden, you don't have to go far.
