This photo of a Northern Flicker was taken at Magnolia Springs State Park, Millen, GeorgiaTime
This photo was taken around noon on 2 January 2015. I was riding around on my bike looking for birds to take photos of when I spotted this northern flicker in a bare tree with just red berries on the limbs. Always carry my camera in my bike basket. Took several pictures of this pretty bird while standing in the parking lot of the visitor's center at Magnolia Springs State Park in Millen GeorgiaLighting
I actually did not worry about lighting. It was a slightly cloudy day and a little chilly for January.Equipment
Used my canon powershot SX50.Inspiration
I'm an avid bird watcher and amateur photographer of birds, butterflies and flowers. I'm either on my bike or walking the paths at various state parks looking to take pictures of the images I see. I am a senior citizen and have been retired for many years and this gives me plenty of time to explore and make use of my photography passion and hobby.Editing
After taking my photos, I download them on my Dell computer and use Windows Photo gallery to enhance and crop a photo. In my camera bag
I only have one camera with me when I go exploring. Now I am using my Canon Super Shot SX60Feedback
Always carry your camera with you when you are going to new places and seeing new gifts of nature. This is a wonderful planet that is full of nature's beauty. Even take your camera out in your own backyard because you just never know when a special photograph moment will come up like I had when I captured this norther flicker in a bare tree with just red berries on the limbs.
