This would make an awesome photo for photo stacking. Take 20 shot with different areas of focus.

Behind The Lens

Location

Around the village of Zabalo in the Amazon Basin, Ecuador

Time

Around the early afternoon

Lighting

Photographing in very subdued light in the jungle means that you have to hunt around for pools of natural light

Equipment

A Canon 30D with a 100mm macro. No tripod or flash

Inspiration

The delicacy and beauty of these tiny little bells

Editing

No.

In my camera bag

These days an Olympus OMD with a 20-40 mm Zuiko plus a 40-200 mm Lumix zoom. Filters.

Feedback

In jungles take time to look closely around you. There is so much alien life you can miss if you ate looking at the canopy the whole time. I took a lot of macro shots as the area was rich in plants and and wildlife. I have never seen so many butterflies. The rotten tree branches were adorned with beautiful, delicate fungi. For my galleries of my shots on this trip see my web site http://glancingshots.london/ecuador-the-amazon-basin and my Flickr albums https://www.flickr.com/photos/jonahood/collections/72157621975576814.
