Location
I was attending a Photo workshop in Yosemite National Park. One of our daily projects was reflections. I was wandering around the meadow across from El Capitan looking for a good water source and I found it, a small area of standing water. It was early in the morning and there was no wind so it was just a matter of finding the correct composition. The rock formations are named 'The Three Brothers' and is located on the North side of Yosemite Valley. I shots dozens of images and this, in my opinion, was the best one.Time
I don't remember the exact day of the week but I do know it was real early in the morning.Lighting
Since the assignment was reflections. I want the image to show everything. I have additional images that are just the reflection but they are missing something. .Equipment
I am a Nikon person. This image was shot in May, 2004. I was in the process of switching from film to digital and had just purchased a DSLR D100. and I had my trusty F100 with me along with dozens of rolls of Fuji Velva50 Slide film. I used both camera during the workshop and without doing some research I cannot I'd which one took this image.Inspiration
First, it was an assignment, Reflection. Second, Of all the National Parks I have visited(53) Yosemite is my favorite so I'm always looking for something to shoot there.Editing
Digital or slide. 2004. I wasn't into post processing back then. If it was a slide, I had to scan it on my Epson Scanner, high resolution..In my camera bag
Today, DSLR-Nikon D500. D300 backup, spare Batteries, Memory Cards.Tamron 18-400mm, Tamron 150-600mm, Nikon 90mm 2.8 macro, 180mm 2.8 macro, various and sundry items, like rain jacket, handi wides. candy bar. water. .Feedback
If looking to find reflections, think small and look down, a small patch of water can reflect large object. First find the water, the subject will find itself for you.
