This was taken September 6th at 2:28 in the afternoon. It was cloudy with sprinkles most of the day, a little dark and gloomy.Lighting
It was a little dark which helped the color I think and the dark clouds overhead added interest to the photo.Equipment
I used a Nikon D300 with a Nikkor 18-200 VR lens, Uv filter and handheld.Inspiration
The tree itself, growing and healthy in such a seemingly precarious spot. Also it's roots growing away from it which draws you into the photo and the backdrop.Editing

I move around a lot and take many photos at different angles and perspectives of the same subject. A little luck with clouds can help too.
