I took this image as a part of a motherhood project I am working on. I was so drawn to this mother's transparency. Her daughter has down syndrome and she has been so open about her initial experience with not wanting a down syndrome baby. Of course, the moment her daughter was placed into her mother's arms after entering the world, her mother realized that she loved her fiercely and unconditionally. She now raises awareness for the struggles faced by people with down syndrome. I absolutely adore this image. I find so much inspiration in mothers and their narratives.
