I took this photo right outside my back door. This is one of three kittens that had been born in my backyard. Her name is KitKat.Time
I believe it was in the late afternoon that this photo was taken.Lighting
The lighting was perfect. Late afternoon without any shadows, just an overall even light on my subject.Equipment
At the time I had a Nikon D3200 and used a 35mm lens. No flash. I don't unfortunately have what my settings were.Inspiration
At this time I took this photo, I had just begun my photography journey. My cats were always around and fun to shoot. KitKat would always roll around to greet me and I was able to capture her in this photo.Editing
The original photo was of the whole kitten. I cropped it to a square ratio and feel it really works for the composition of this photo. I did some basic adjustments such as sharpening, vibrance and clarity.In my camera bag

This was a completely spontaneous shot. I had captured some earlier shots of the kittens playing and sitting. But always be ready for the unexpected shot. Originally, I didn't think this photo was that great. But, after playing around with the crop, I was able to come up with the final photo. This is one of my favorite photos and is popular on several sites.
