This was shot at home in my apartmentTime
I don't recall exact time of day this was taken, but likely some time early to mid-morningLighting
I used the natural light in my room with windows on two sides there was plenty of options to illuminate this subject.Equipment
Canon EOS1100D with 18-55 std zoom Aperture f/5.6?ISO 800?Shutter 1/100?Focal Length 53/1Inspiration
New to Viewbug at the time, I did some experimenting to meet the criteria for a contest for water droplets on flowers, and since my wife is a floral designer there are usually suitable subjects around the home. Macro is one of my preferred subjects, and flowers in particular, since I first started photography aged 14 with my trusty Zenith 35mm SLR.Editing
No editing other than cropping, I've only recently started using Lightroom to post process images, previously as I learned on film with limited budget and always worked to get the image composure I wanted in camera first. In my camera bag
Current kit includes Canon EOS SL2, EF-S 18-55 IS STM, EF-S 55-250 IS STM and EF 50MM F1.8 STM lenses and Canon Speedlite 430EX Backup kit includes Canon EOS 1100D, Canon EF 70-300 mk IIIFeedback
My advice for others is to look around you for subjects and then work on getting subject and light combined for best effect, also to try different focus/aperture combinations, changing the point of focus in macro shots with short depth of field can have a huge impact on the final result, so play around and keep shooting until you get what you are looking for, at least with digital now there are no real restrictions on how many shots you take unlike when I was working with film on a pocket money budget when I first started.
