Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Bristol harbour side. The Matthew of Bristol is a replica of the 15th century caravel that John Cabot sailed from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497.

Time

I love being out and about early when work allows,i took this picture between 5:30 and 6 a.m.

Lighting

It was just really nice sunrise after waiting around for thirty minutes or so i was rewarded with this lovely coloured sky.

Equipment

I am a devout Nikon fan this was shot on my D80 using a slik tripod and a 18-135 lens.

Inspiration

I'd seen the boat while travelling to work and thought it looked like a good place to start on a day out taking stock photos.

Editing

No post-processing

In my camera bag

I tend to keep it light normally just my Nikon D80 my Nikon DX18-135 mm,AF-S Micro Nikkor DX 40mm and a Lastolite reflector.

Feedback

Taking pictures at sunrise and sunset you need to know where your going to set up be there in plenty of time and take lot's of shot's the light will change constantly. Patience and lots mistakes it's the only way to improve and never delete anything from your camera screen wait until you have viewed it properly. This image as sat in a file for along time before anybody else saw it.
