This photo was taken in Croton MI. It's a small community near Newaygo, MI a town in West Michigan. There is a dam and this is the pond (it's really a large lake)Time
I took this early Sunday morning. I will travel all over the place and shoot, but I don't sped much time in my own back yard. I got up this morning before sunrise and stopped at a couple places. As you can tell it was about sunrise, and there is fog on the pond.Lighting
I wanted to get the fog, and the suns rays coming in over the water. I shot it in HDREquipment

I wanted to catch the mist coming up from the water with the glow of the sunrise. I was wishing for more fog, but..... you take what you can get. I live near this shot, and wanted to get more pix of my area, so I just picked a nice morning and went out!!! Sometime you get lucky!Editing

You don't need to travel all over to get a great photo. You know your area best and can take advantage of great morning get the great shots.
