Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo at an open field located 30 minutes from my house.
Time
I would say between 8-9pm.
Lighting
My only light source was a light post. You can see that by how hard the light is hitting on top of their heads.
Equipment
Camera was canon 70d, lens was a 18-55 prime lens. No other fancy equipment.
Inspiration
I have a strong passion for the military. I wanted to create a heart melting scene with these two when going into battle you don't do it alone. Ralph King was a great mentor to me and always said I had a very great eye for detail. So I pushed myself more in this photo and I had this idea. I wanted to really bring that out of myself to show him.
Editing
Things I added in hummer, muzzle flashes, smoke. At first the muzzle flashes I hated the look of it. So I added some smoke to it to soften it up, I wanted to make it more like something getting projected out of the gun.
In my camera bag
At this time period not much, Canon 70d, 2 lenses.
Feedback
Passion for the military also very little details. Photoshop played a major part in this. I also had this idea kicking around in my head for quite awhile which made it very easy to get this image. Practiced a lot with what I only had, which wasn't much.
