Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in October, 2015 at Universal Studios, Florida at the annual Halloween Horror Nights event. Walking through the scare zones were scare actors. I captured this image as the scare actor made a beeline for me and loved the intensity of the fog, black and white and the actors' face.

Time

Just after sunset, the sun was low and taken mid- October.

Lighting

It was late evening in Mid October, just after dusk. So the light was low and added to the mood of the shot. Any lighter, it would not have had the same intended effect.

Equipment

This was actually taken on my Samsung mobile phone, the picture wasn't planned but loved her intensity and wanted a quick capture.

Inspiration

The intensity of the fog and the actor looked incredible and had to capture it to remember the evening.

Editing

The image was taken in colour, I altered it to black and white to enhance the mood.

In my camera bag

I'm an amateur photographer so no fancy equipment, but I own a Canon 1000d and Canon 750d. Standard lens as well as 300mm, 50mm and lots of ND filters of differing density.

Feedback

Think about what type of shots you want, in advance of possible. But enjoy the ad-hoc, off the cuff images. Practise as much as possible.
