Location
Photo was taken in New York City's Chinatown, Across from the corner of Moscow and Mott street.Time
Taken in the late evening. We had finished a late dinner and while everyone was standing around talking I thought I would grab some photos.Lighting
I really liked the combination of the brightness of the sky at night, the lights of the World Trade center and the lights of the street.Equipment
This photo was taking handheld with a Canon T3i with the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM.Inspiration
Wanted to try to capture the business of the city at this corner as it is a very busy street. I especially like the view of the World Trade Center looking down Moscow Street. I also wanted to capture movement of a bicycle rather than a car and waited and watched for cyclists to come down Mott street without a car in the frame. After a few attempts I ended up this photo and was very pleased at the result.Editing
Some post processing in Lightroom to do some color correction, brought the highlights down and lightened the shadow areas. In my camera bag
Since this photo was taken I have moved over to full frame mirrorless. Main body is a Canon EOS R6 and secondary body is the canon EOS R. My bag also includes the Canon RF 100-500MM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM, canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8l ll USM, EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM, Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD and a Samyang 12mm f/2.8. Also carry a set of remote triggers, spare batteries, memory cards an OP-Tech dual camera strap and a couple of Godox TT350s.Feedback
Have and idea for what you are trying to capture and experiment. Patience and not being afraid to have a couple of failed attempts only makes it more worth while when you get the shot you were looking for. Also, do not be afraid to move around, look around. You may find a better backround or angle for the shot.
