I took these Images in my Back Yard, They were "Just" In range of my 300mm lens, Being A City bird they stay In the city all Winter and Rely on Bird feeders Left over seeds , whatever They can find. Winter In Hamilton Ontario Canada can get as low as minus 20 Celsius and That is cold, So, they grow a Thick Winter Coat then Molt in Spring and look much different.

Great capture, awesome looking bird.. My son plays AAA hockey about twice a month in Canada. I will have to ask him if he has ever seen a bird like that.

Most people despise these beautiful birds at their feeders because they can be a bit "bossy", but I enjoy watching them.

Thank you Dave, the light was when the sun was just about to set, and was great with a fairly low shutter speed

Great shot. I had a flock of them find my bird feeder this winter - they ate me out of house and home!
