This photo was taken at home right in our front yard. There was so much leaves in the ground. And I needed to rake them to be put in the yard bags for recycling. I thought I might as well do something fun, take a break from cleaning.Time
It was taken around 6:00 pm. when the sun was about to set. And yes, it was getting cold. (Autumn 2015)Lighting
I remember it was almost getting dark. I had to do a manual setting in my camera so I can get the proper lighting. I usually prefer to use natural light as much as possible and most often, use the manual settings in the camera as it gives me a free reign in lighting adjustments. I find it fun, experimenting with aperture and the shutter speed. Takes a lot of patience though but I certainly don't mind as I'm learning and get the results that I wanted.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS Rebel T3i, EF-S60mm f/2.8 lens. I did not use a tripod at that time, I was actually on my knees in the ground with my head close to my knees. No flash needed as I made use of the natural light.Inspiration
I just like to have fun while taking photos and this was definitely one of those moments. I wanted something to represent fall season in a different way, not just the leaves turning to gold, or yellow, or red but that those fallen leaves needed to be raked or collected somehow for recycling. I'm all for recycling by the way (smile).Editing
For this photo, I made a little adjustments with the brightness/contrast. I also use the curve tool. This is what I use most of the time to get the right colors. I am still learning other tools. In my camera bag
Normally, in my bag you'll find a camera, a couple of lens, a gorilla tripod, some lens wipes. Being a light traveler, I would say that it suits me just fine considering that I don't have enough muscles in my shoulder to carry heavy stuff ... lol. Honestly, I don't weigh much myself.Feedback
What I have learned that is very helpful is to know your camera very well, esp. when using the manual setting, and yes, the use of natural lights whenever possible. It is also a good idea to train our eyes to see different views from different angles. It might surprise you what you can come up with. And of course, nothing beats like having fun while you're learning. As someone says, "To see what is in front of one's nose needs a constant struggle."- George Orwell
