The best time for Yangyang Terraced rice field photography is from December to April. Go to Laohuzui which is the most popular place for SUNSET photography of this very unique cultural landscape Laohuzui is 20 KM from the hotel district in Yangyang Town. There are view points situated in 2 levels, the upper suitable for just viewing whereas the lower, for photo shooting. Please note, it could be challenging to walk up and down between these two levels if your photographic equipments are heavy. It is better to arrive there in the afternoon before 4 pm, because most photographers will flock there to jockey for best positions after 4. Apart for wide angle shooting, it is advisable to have Tele lens ready at hand. The latter will be useful for zooming any particular beautiful local spots of interest. Be prepared for its rapidly change of light and shadows of the rice fields. Please note: for SUNRISE shooting , the best place for it is called Duoyishu, about 50 minutes driving distance from Laohuzui.
