Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Bonfire night in Leicester, UK. This was taken for my photography course I'm studying.

Time

Well, that was late.

Lighting

I wanted to capture fireworks, to freeze them.

Equipment

my equipment: nikon d800, nikorr 24-70mm f2.8 and tripod.

Inspiration

I was capturing the Bonfire night event and the firework display was the main thing. I wanted to tell the story, not just the fireworks in the frame, that is why I've tried to have people silhouettes in the picture.

Editing

I've done just the usual post-processing. Raw conversion and few corrections in Photoshop - curves, contrast.

In my camera bag

With my camera I have two lenses - 24-70 mm 2.8 and 105 mm 2.8. Also a flashgun. I grab reflector or tripod just if needed.

Feedback

Fireworks usually do not last long, so you have to be prepared in advance the camera settings, the place where to stand and to act quick.
