There is not a single guy who never played little "wargames" as a kid. Crawling around in the grass, hiding in the bushes, trying to beat the "enemy"... For lots of these kid, the future had nasty surprises when those "wargames" became pretty real... The photo is somehow a "protest" against all the fighting and violence in the world.
