Very powerful message in this image..no matter what we do, how we try to bend nature to our will, how we misuse it it's power is raw and honest. And you captured that extremely well in this image..sadly we still need zoo's these days but I am hoping one day they will become obsolete and we will find a new way of sharing this world with other creatures...before it is too late

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a small zoo in Gulf Shores AL.

Time

I believe it was afternoon.

Lighting

Nothing extra, just natural light on this shot.

Equipment

Nikon d2x 70-300 lense

Inspiration

Although I do not like the fence in the picture, the lion was just steady watching me take pictures and he was intently looking into the camera, I just loved the shot!!

Editing

Just basic edit, color, exposure, sharpness, clarity.

In my camera bag

We use Nikons, D2x and a D90, Several lenses, 70-300. 85 wide angle, 105 micro and a regular 105 zoom and of course a 55 mm.

Feedback

Don't rush and don't expect to get the perfect shot every time. I like to sit and watch and just snap as the animal wanders around, this one was more simple because he just sat down and posed.
