Location
This bison cow was photographed in Texas. And it is Quite rare to have snow. But when we do, regardless of how cold it is , I grab my camera and go!Time
The photo taken mid morning. The wind was blowing and it was quite cold out.Lighting
As an amateur photographer, the lighting was difficult. It was snowing at the time and the sky and the ground was all white . There was complete cloud cover.Equipment
Camera: NIKON D7100 Lens: Tamron, 70-300 Aperture: f/4.5 ISO: 400 Exposure: 1/1250 I do not have a tripod . I use this camera and lens 99% of the time.Inspiration
I love photographing animals, and am fond of bison. And my favorite time to be out to photograph , is when it snows.Editing

I have an extra battery and a 18-105 Nikon lens which I rarely use.Feedback
It is difficult for me to give advice because I am an amateur myself. I am self taught just by trial and error. My advice would be to get out and take photos. Shoot the things you enjoy. Learn your camera and experiment with it. I take a lot of photos , nearly daily , and with digital cameras , it is easy to just delete what doesn't work. And I have to say, joining viewbug has caused me to improve , Trying to get a shot that would fit a challenge or contest has caused me to improve.
