The image displayed is intended to show the variation in shades of a leaf of a plant during the autumn, but in the abstract point of view, as in this case the combination of different stages of ripening from one type of sheet. Of course the idea is to show that something is not real, the sheet can, within the limits of being green at the base and brown at the tips.
