Location
This photo was taken at the Seven Mile Beach in Negril Jamaica. Every time I go to Jamaica I go back and photograph this same boat. You could say it's one of my favorite subjects in Negril.Time
This photo was taken on our daily morning walk down the beach. We were on island time.....so who knows what time it was?!!Lighting
I love to shoot in natural light. The colors of this boat and the water along with the sun's morning rays made this shot great straight out of the camera.Equipment
The equipment I used for this photo was a Nikon D800 24-70 2.8 lens.Inspiration
The colors of the boat sitting in the Caribbean blue water were irresistible- I couldn't pass it up!Editing
This photo did not require any editing whatsoever. The only thing it needed was a watermark. In my camera bag
I normally have a Nikon D800, Nikon 24-70mm 2.8, Nikon 70-200 2.8, Nikon 14-24 2.8 wide angle, Nikon 85mm, Nikon 1.8 mm along with various other lenses as needed. It won't fit in my bag but I always bring along my Really Right Stuff tripod- it straps easily to my bag.Feedback
My best advice for capturing a great shot is to get out, keep your camera close by and your eyes open. For this particular shot I was in chest deep water shooting many different angles of this boat...so be aware of waves coming in and shoot between waves!
