Every year, Kansas City has a hot air balloon festival. 2014 was the first year I went and I was amazed by the colors, shapes, and sizes of those balloons on display. After all of the balloons were upright, the festival allowed spectators to go out onto the field for a better view of the balloons. Of course I knew how these balloons were launched but it was neat to be able to see what the mechanism looked like and how the pilot of the balloon was able to control the flow of the propane in order to inflate and fly these colorful modes of transportation.
