Location
This photo was taken in a bit of woodland, that functions as my back garden. It's quiet and private, so a lot of space and time to experiment without being disturbed.Time
It was early morning, around 9 am.Lighting
It was a very foggy morning after an autumn storm on the previous day. The sun was out, but the fog created a nice diffusing and soft effect. As everything was still wet, reflections off the leaves was a bit of an issue, as I had not brought any filters with me.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon EF 24-105mm lens, tripod and a shutter release cable.Inspiration
It was the first calm day after a long stormy period, everything seemed very still and airy. I had not felt like picking up my camera for a while, but this stillness made me feel peaceful and insightful. I didn't plan to have a proper day out photographing, but walking in the woods and feeling so close to the nature inspired me. I wanted to convey the feeling of lightness, hope and peacefulness that I felt at that moment.Editing
I used Photoshop for basic adjustments, such as contrast, exposure, white balance. In my camera bag
I normally have my camera, 24-105mm lens, depending on where I am also the 70-300 mm lens, polarizing and ND filters, tripod and a shutter release.Feedback
This picture was not to show a spectacular landscape, colours or an amazing composition. It was inspired by my own feelings at that moment. For me, it's important to lose myself in the process and world that surrounds me, letting my imagination control the next shot and not letting the goal of technical perfection distract me.
