Does anyone know what those brown things are? I have two photos with them in it and I can't figure them out.

Location
I took this shot on a nearby forest on a location that i had spotted earlier, there was small stream and on the banks there were plenty of mushrooms.Time
Shot was taken around sunset in late summer evening, soft background light did the trick for this photo.Lighting
Only natural light on this photo, strong backlight comes from the setting sun.Equipment
This was shot on Sony a6000 with 50mm f/1.7 and 20mm extension tubes, no flash and hand held.Inspiration
The whole point of shooting this evening was to take some good mushroom shots, and this was the best i could do. I did take more "traditional" shots of the mushrooms but eventually chosed this one because of the more dreamy feeling that it has due to the very shallow depth of field. I think it works well with the backlight.Editing
This photo has very little amount of post processing done in Lightroom, i just amped up the contrast a bit. I think i removed some specks of dust from the image but that was that.In my camera bag
Along with this old Konica Hexanon AR 50mm f/1.7 i have the following gear in the bag: Sony A7 Mark II, Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG, Tokina 17mm f/3.5 AT-X Pro, Konica Hexanon AR 28mm f/3.5. Set of filters, remote trigger, cleaning kit and batteries.Feedback
This shot is the result of waiting for the right time of the year. I had spotted the place earlier and knew there were going the be lot's of mushrooms at certain time of the year. At the evening when i went to take this shot it was just a matter of picking the best mushroom i could find. It happened to be at the top of the rotten stump and i took the shot against the setting sun which peeked through the forest.
