I took this picture in the Beringer forrest in Switzerland, Schaffhausen I love this forrest. I grew up in Beringen and had a lot of adventures by myself at this places, this is also why I love taking pictures thereTime
I was about 3pm. We started with the Make up at 11am and needed a few hours until everything was perfect and until we spotted the perfect place for this seriesLighting
I worked with available light and the white side of a big reflector placed in front of the modelEquipment

I was planning this shoot for about two months. I am a big fan of the day of dead tattoos and art style, so i wanted to do something like this for Halloween. But I didn't wanted to go on the too scary side of pictures but tried to achieve a creepy beauty look with some class in it. I was searching for the perfect models for a long time and I was lucky to find the perfect male model with Dani Darcy Nyffi. Petra from PS-Style.ch is an amazing make up artist and I was very glad that she had time do do the beautiful make up just as I imaged it.Editing
Yes I edited the picture wih the Photoshop CC. At first I did the normal skin corrections. I made the make up pop with frequenzy seperation to let the white shine and to achieve a dark black. Than I worked with d&b for the lightning and to bring some details in the hat back. The forrest wasn't very autumnal than, so I used the Nik Filter Indian Summer to achieve the perfect colour look to match the "fowers" Dany is hoding. Than I was sharpening the eyes and small details and made put dulled layer on it as finish of about 20%In my camera bag
I normally work with my Canon eos 5d Mark III and my all time favourite lense the canon 50mm 1.4. In my bag is also My Canon 100mm 2.8 makro lense and the Canon 24-135mm lense. Additional I have two Yongnuo flashs and two big reflectors and my tripodFeedback
For a shot like this, I think the most important thing is, that you find a team that matches and understand your vision. I showed or make up artist Petra a few pictures that inspired me for the make up, but let her do what she thinks workes the best. A good communication between models, make up artist and photographer is a must, that all work in the same direction. Than you also need a good spot to shoot it and to know at what time you have the correct light. If your a pro in compositions I think you can do it in a studio too, but I prefer getting a picture as close as possible to the end result. For the post processing its up to you what kind of look you like to create. For autumn shots I love the indian summer filter from the nik collection because it still looks natural. But you can create your ow colour look. (p.s. I am really sorry for any english mistakes and hope you can correct them or ask if you don't understand something. I am swiss so english isn't my mothertongue and its quite difficult to tell you what I like to do in english)
