This picture was taken in the beautiful island of Koh Lanta , Thailand 7 years ago. Me and the love of my life were spending a month in Thailand. We were amazed by the beauty of the landscape and the smile on people's faces. It's defenetly a "voyage" that we will remember for the rest of our lives.Time
This was shot just before the sunset. I was in the ocean and water was up to my waist. I just ask to my beautiful girlfriend to pose for me wile the sun was still there. I had to be careful for not letting the camera being soaked. But the waves were gentle so i tried to achieve the best shot i could.Lighting
I took many picture at that time cause the light was changing fast. I took picture of her while I had the sun on my back but the one that created the most incredible effect was when I used the sun in front of me for that "silouhette" effect. So then she felt "free" to improvised movement in front of the lens. Then I stop her for a moment and ask her to put her left hand foward so we can see it. It also created that 3D perspective effect or "deapness" into the picture otherwise it was too unidimensional. And the magic was captured then.Equipment
I only had the camera in my hand. I didn't use any flash or special lens. I love photography but never had the chance of investing the money i would love to into it. My mother brought me a Fuji camera FinePix S5200 10x before that trip and that was my only equipment ! You know... I love art in all sort of form. I do painting, I play guitar, and even with a fender stratocaster USA worth thousands I can make it sound horrible. So I think that the opposite is also true. Having fun and having "the eye" to see what needs to be captured is something money can't buy. But I'll admit, I can't wait for christmas to come... I just want a new camera !!!Inspiration
My girlfriend turned 30 years old that day and she didn't know that I was going to give her "THE RING " later on. At this present day, this is our favorite picture of that journey not only for the beauty of the scenery it self but for the memories it brings back. We also can share it with our almost 2 years old beloved girl named Janaïs. So that picture have already paided off !Editing
Yes . I slightly push to bring more contrast to her silouhette and just a touch of sharpness. Otherwise , no color change were made.In my camera bag
I want to upgrade to canon EOS 30D with EF-S 17-55mm f: 2.8 IS USM . For now I'm still using my Fuji Finepix S5200.Feedback
The best picture I took were when the nature wake's up. When the sun rise it seem's like nature's at it's peak of life and actions. It's also true when the sun go down. It bring light effect that shows all sort of colors. These are my favorites moments to take pictures. Thank you all for voting as you did , it mean so much to me.
