First time he was able to come to the wall. This was the first time he was able to go to the wall. He himself did a couple of tours. Thankfully citizens stepped up and gave these guys a place to be remebered and those who came homw, a place to heal. I don't think in my lifetime one for our conflict will be erected.
To those who's names are on this wall. Thank you.

Thank you. It was the first time he was able to go to the wall. As hard as it is for him to look at it, he was glad i was able to capture this. They now have it framed and hung up in thier house.

Thank you. I love it cause it's real. Nothing staged or setup. It just happened.

This was the first time he was able to even look at the wall in person. I was lucky to be able to get him to come down to the wall.Equipment
My nikon d5000.Inspiration
Being a veteran myself, (being that there will probably be no memorial in my lifetime for OIF) I wanted to captured his first visit to the wall. Took him years to be able to see those names again. I just wanted to be able to capture the true emotion for a fellow vet.Editing
Yes I did. Just basic sharping, and taking color out.In my camera bag

Don't go during big holidays. Prepare to walk, or get a taxi. Shoot what you see with you eyes.
