thank you for the kind comments.
This is Lello Bookshop in Porto, Portugal. i wanted to capture a different perspective of the staircase and then waited for an interesting human element. ;)

Fantástica imagem, Pedro! A Livraria Lello na "minha" cidade é lindíssima. Conseguiu tirar esta foto sem ter ninguém lá dentro, só essa pessoa a descer, o que é uma ocasião rara. Parabéns!

Location
This shot was taken at Lello Bookshop, downtown Porto, Portugal J.K.Rowling used to teach english in my hometown and she used to go and visit Lello lots of times. It is said that these stairs inspired her to create the crazy hogwartz castle's stairs.Time
i usually go there once a week with groups of tourists that want to visit, and always in the morning. That is the best time to go there, not only cause there is less people but also cause more natural light goes in from the windows.Lighting
this place is not filled with a lot of natural light. It is very tricky to even shot below 1600 ISO. There is a very big old "church-like" window that lets some light in from the ceiling, but you have to visit it in the late morning hours to make the best of this light.Equipment
i used a Fuji Xt1 and a samyang 12mm. No flash and no tripod. The camera was raised a bit in my hands to achieve a better angle. The samyang is perfect for small areas and it is a very sharp lens. Plus i love to shoot full manual lenses.Inspiration
I've been going to lello for a long time now. It is one of my favourite places that combines an amazing architecture with the magic of books! for a long time i was looking for the perfect shot that combined the magic of this place with the human element. This woman, with this crazy style and that awesome hat plus the way she is grabbing on the railings to go down - i just love it. it's one of those shots that are really worth the patience and to keep going back.Editing
Yes i do a little of post, not to much usually. I mainly use camera raw+photoshop. I go through the usual lens correction and usually i like to add a little contrast. In my camera bag
i don't leave my house without at least 3 lenses - the 12mm Samyang F2.0, the 35mm fuji F2.0 and the 56mm fuji F1.2. Usually these three lenses are good enough to shoot pretty much most of my shots. i do sometimes feel the need for a longer tele but not on a daily basis. IT might be my next addition though.Feedback
photography to me is based on 3 factors - Creativity, persistence and light! Look for the best light, really work to understand light! Don't let others kill your creativity and don't give up your ideas! Stay true to yourself. And lastly, just endure! Practice practice and practice! just keep shooting!! i'd say those are advices that help me on a daily basis, no matter what picture i'm looking for!
