This is Castle Hill lighthouse located near Newport Rhode Island . It's a short hike through some woods to reach it. It continues to operate automatically to this day.Time
It was late afternoon in the summer when I got this shot. I prefer afternoon light for these sort of subjects.Lighting

Newport RI is a great place to find wonderful outdoor subjects from the historical buildings downtown to the cliff walk that goes behind the famous mansions. Seascapes from the beaches and all manner of sailing vessels, there is something to capture for most everyone.
