Location
This photo was taken from the walls surrounding Lincoln Castle, I was just starting to get into photography and was, in my opinion, one of my first decent images.Time
The time was roundabout midday, it wasn't planned, I had never been up on the Castle walls so it was just a spur of the moment capture.Lighting
I would of perhaps liked a bluer sky, but on reflection I think the dull sky adds to the mood of the image.Equipment
I was using my first dslr camera which was a Canon EOS 400D with the kit lens 18 - 55mmInspiration
I just noticed the Cathedral was framed by the wall and took inspiration.Editing
If I do any post-processing it is only usually to adjust the lighting or maybe some lens calibration, but in this instance none was needed and it was straight from the camera. In my camera bag
I now have a Canon 7D, a tamron 18-200mm and a Canon 70-300mm lens, 2 spare batteries, 2 spare memory cards and a lens cloth.Feedback
Just try to get a different angle on the subject, there are literally thousands of images of Lincoln Cathedral and I just wanted to get that image that was different to everyone else's.
