This wire was on top of a six foot high concrete block fence around a church in Haiti. I am sure the Pastor had a good reason for having this fence but I could not accept it as an invitation to worship at that church!

Location
This photo was taken in Haiti while I was on a trip to help repair and build showers for a church, a hospital and a prison in a small mountain village. Ironically (I think) this was on top of a fence that surrounded the church!Time
The time was early morning as we waited for breakfast and the transportation to the work site.Lighting
The light for the photo was all natural lighting as it filtered through the tropical trees on the east side of the fence.Equipment
The only photographic equipment I had was my camera (Nikon D3200) and a 18 -- 55 mm lens. We had to pack light for this trip because we were carrying all of our tools and supplies for the projects.Inspiration
As I was waiting for Breakfast, I sat on rock facing the fence and started wondering why a church would put a high concrete fence and razor wire around a church. I wanted to take a picture that would be interesting to see and at the same time remind me of this situation.Editing
I do not do post- processing. In my camera bag
Depending on what I am doing and where I am going, I usually carry two cameras, several lenses, and several filters plus a tripod.Feedback
Whenever I take a photograph, I try to think about what I want to convey (beauty--mystery-- emotion--etc.) and I also think about what perspective/angle to take in order to maximize the effect. As a friend of mine and photographer likes to say "the difference between a picture and a photograph is that the photo has an intentional message and perspective whereas a picture is nice"!
