Location
I took this photo when we were camping! We were camped next to a beautiful lake and I was determined to get some good sunset pics. Each night I went out to see what I could come up with.Time
This was taken just at sunset. I tried several different nights because the lighting was different each night. I wanted something with some color, because I like a lot of rich color!Lighting
The lighting on this particular night seemed to be more vivid and the lake was very calm, so I knew that I might have something because it was a little more colorful than previous nights.Equipment
I used my Nikon d5200 and a 300 mm lens to capture this shot of the lake.Inspiration
I had been wanting to capture some beautiful sunsets because I didnt really have a lot of experience doing this, as I am a relatively new photographer. I knew this particular night would be good because the lake was so calm and the lighting was different.Editing
On the post processing, I may have cropped it a bit. I added some saturation and a bit of contrast. I didn't really have to do that much to it.In my camera bag
I carry a Nikon d5200 in my bag, along with a 50mm lens, a 300mm lens and my kit lens. I also have 2 extra batteries, and some lens wipes.Feedback
My advice to others on capturing an amazing sunset is to scout out the place first and decide what kind of image and perspective that you are wanting to get. You may have to go back several times to get the kind of image you want, so don't give up if you don't capture it right out of the gate. The lighting will probably be different each night. So be patient and persistent and you will eventually get what you are looking for.
