Location
This photo was taken in my studio in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.Time
We met with model at early evening, but as the location was studio and I was using only strobe light, the time of the day didn't have actually any impact on final result.Lighting
I was going for something dramatic so I decided to lit my model with two strip boxes with grid, to limit the amount of light hitting the subject. I also used one more light with snoot on, to lit the background.Equipment
I used my Nikon D700 with 70-200mm f2.8 lenses (set at 70mm). For lighting I used three Bowens Gemini GM500C lamps with strip boxes and snoot.Inspiration
The biggest inspiration for me this day was the wonderful model in front of my lens.Editing
I did here quite little post-processing using Photoshop. Some contrast adjustment, opening little bit the shadows and using cross-process effect for color shift. In my camera bag
My old Nikon D700, Nikon lenses: 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 and 50mm f1.4, small reflector, two manual flashes from Yongnuo and ND Fader lens filter.Feedback
The most important is to experiment with your lighting setup. Working with strip boxes with grid put you in situation when even the smallest change of the position of the light or the position of the model can drastically change how the final photo will look.
