The terraced rice paddies around Sapa, Vietnam are a man-made wonder, and a feat of agricultural engineering. I saw this valley from the road so stopped and climbed down the hill and out onto a large boulder to get a better angle. Unfortunately, this valley will be partially submerged next year as the Vietnamese government is building a dam just down stream from where this shot was taken.
