Location
This photo was taken in Nashville, Tn. in my driveway, just after having come back from walking my dog where we were out enjoying all the Fall colors in the leaves of the trees.Time
You can set your watch to my dog Ringo pawing at you to take him up the street to discuss business at his favorite mailbox. We really enjoy our walks, it's when I stop doing what I'm doing to devote some time to whatever he wants to do.Lighting
It was one of those mornings that was just magical, after a nice steady rain during the night. The leaves in the trees were like each one had a little light bulb inside. I had washed and wax my car the day before, so I had a clean slate to work with, which helped reflect the light in each rain drop.Equipment
Nikon D-7000, Kit Lens, Hand Held. Due to the location of the leaf on the hood of my car, in order to get a shot straight down over the leaf, I had to just hold my arms all the way out and shoot a few frames without looking through the viewfinder and just pick one for the best composition that I was going for, I had 6-7 to pick from.Inspiration
It was just magic, I didn't place the leaf on the hood of my car or rearrange any of the drops of water. Red leaf, Blue car, couldn't have been more perfect even if I tried.Editing
This photo didn't receive as much post processing as I usually apply to other photo's, aside from adjusting white balance and a little sharpening, this was straight out of the camera. Lightroom is always my Library, normally I'd start there and make the adjustments I mentioned, then send it over to Photoshop and let that program be the hub for a few adjustments, then over to Topaz Labs for more creative decisions, then back to Lightroom for archiving. In my camera bag
I could use a New bag, but mine will hold my camera and a couple lenses, an 18mm - 105mm Nikor zoom gets most of the attention, a Sigma 10mm - 20mm for Wide Angle shots (I'm waiting for a really clear night to have some Astrological fun), I've got a nice Nikon 70mm - 200mm lens, but it's heavy and won't fit in the bag, it goes in a back pack and gets used a lot for wildlife photography, you wouldn't want to drag it to Italy, although once in Italy you'd wish you had it with you. Also in the bag is a favorite piece of gear, my wireless remote, a must have piece of gear, that and a tripod.Feedback
