This photo was taken in the "Habana Vieja", the oldest part of Havana, Cuba.Time
I was walking through Old Havana in the middle of a hot afternoon, in the beginning of April 2015, when I found this street covered with wet pitch. I knew that this would give me a beautiful scene in B&W.Lighting
I tried to capture the nuances of the afternoon light and the different tones of the old buildings of the city.Equipment
My Canon 6D with a 24-105mm f/4 lens.Inspiration
The lines created by the old buildings and the reflex in the wet pitch made me imagine that view as a beautiful background for a photographic scene. So I stood at that point just waiting for an action to put on it and complete the composition, that was given by the boys coming out from the image.Editing
I just turned the photo into B&W and ajusted a little the contrast and the sharpness in the Lightroom. In my camera bag
My Canon 6D and lenses 50mm f/ 1.8 and 24-105mm f/4. Sometimes I take my old Nikon F2 with a 36 poses TX 400 film and a 50mm f/ 1.2 lens for a ride.Feedback
While you're on the streets, it's very interesting to "forget" a little the camera. Take a look at the space just with the eyes and try to find some striking background for the composition of your image, be calm and wait. Now, with the camera in your hands, keep your attention at the people passing by and their movements, the right action in the right place of the decor you've created is about to happen and give you the photo you've imagined.
