This fellow has no problem passing through the finger-formed loop. Curious as can be, he sniffs for info about ambient (using his tongue) but shows no urge to leave, none whatsoever. Watersnakes definitely are not what people think of snakes in general... but I feel it is easier to make friends with a snake than to change opinions some people have!
