Inspiration
The NYC skyline is an ICON. To get my own version of it has always been one of my big dreams. The photo has its primal focus on the metal coated binoculars, but the ESB has still has an important role as it is a classical landmark of the NYC skyline know by almost everyone.
Editing
Not much, i cropped it a bit to make the feeling of highrise buildings extra noticeable and to get the binoculars in the postition of the golden ratio.
In my camera bag
I normally carry one of Nikons FX and one DX body with a combination of lenses. Normally i use a Sigma 17-50mm f2,8, Nikon 18-35mm f3,5-5,6, Nikon 50mm f1,8, Nikon 85mm f1,4, Tamron 70-200 f2,8 and a Nikon AF-S 300mm f4. Other than that i carry equipment for sensorcleaning, remot triggers, Promaster ND filter, Speedlights, Greycard and a silver reflector. Bags are normally backpacks from Lovepro and Case Logic.
Feedback
Take your time, dont stress. This photo was taken as i came "early" for the blue hour photo I planned to take of Chrysler building. The light was very pleasing and i couldnt resist taking a few frames at the other direction. So my advice would bee to set of extra time to get the possibility to get golden hour photos as well - if you intend to shoot something during the blue hour.
