Location
this photo was taken in youghal, co.cork, Ireland. it was a very cold nightTime
the pic was taken at 3.30am local timeLighting
no artificial light just natural moon light!. it was shot at f9.5 using an exposure of 180sec at iso 200Equipment
a nikon d5100 body was used with a sigma 150/500 mm lens at about 350mm aps format, 525mm in 35mm format and a manfrotto befree tripodInspiration
it was taken on the night of a full moon, after the lunar eclipse had taken place, so it had to be doneEditing
some cropping of the original image was done in lightroom combined with some processing in topaz and silver fx proIn my camera bag
Nikon d60, d5100, sigma 150/500mm , Nikon 35mm f3.5, Nikon 18/55mm and a Nikon 50/200mm. a manfrotto befree tripod, a great piece of kitFeedback
persistence is the key for good moon shot, try and keep the iso as low as possible it helps with the post processing. good luck
