Behind The Lens

Location
In Scotland I followed a workshop "Owls of the world" at the Polkemmet Country Park, where the Scottish owl centre is situated.
Time
It was at the end of the workshop, around 16:00, June 2014.
Lighting
Natural light only
Equipment
This image was shot with my Nikon D800 with the Nikkor 400mm 2.8, no flash, no filter, using a tripod.
Inspiration
I was waiting for the moment the owl was looking at me, because I think eye contact makes the image stronger.
Editing
A bit of sharpness, a bit of cropping, small changes to the white balance.
In my camera bag
A Nikon D800, the 14-24 mm, 105 mm macro, 70-200 mm and the 2x extender all by Nikkor. In special occasions or holidays I take the heavy 400 mm with me. Apart from that sometimes I use a Gitzo tripod or a Manfrotto mono pod, or a bean bag. For my 14-24 lens I've got the LEE SW 150 filter system with some ND-filters and the big stopper.
Feedback
