Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this at Leprechaun Lake in The Enchantments near Leavenworth, Washington. Our campsite was just a few yards away from these mountain goats.

Time

These two wandered through our camp early in the morning. I shot this around 7:00am.

Lighting

The rising sun was at a perfect angle to create a bit of a halo effect around the goats.

Equipment

Sony NEX-3, handheld.

Inspiration

In a place like The Enchantments it's impossible not to be inspired. These two were regular visitors to our camp. This was the best shot out of the 4 days we were there.

Editing

Very little editing needed for this shot. I cropped and adjusted the lighting in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, Nikon D5300, Sony NEX3, filters, tripod.

Feedback

As you know lighting is critical and timing is everything. I was lucky to capture these two in their natural habitat at a perfect time of day...well worth the grueling 9-mile hike!
